Southern Living asked me in this month’s issue about my favorite color of purple. Whether you are looking for a soft color or a bold one, it can a good option for the home.
I love a lavender shade of purple in a room- It is soft, soothing, and can be a very versatile color. It’s great as an accent or as the wall color as seen in this bedroom we installed a few years back.
Benjamin Moore’s Oyster, the color I mentioned in the article, has a hint of gray, making it more of a neutral. It is soft and soothing, masculine but sexy.
I have used touches of lavender and purple throughout my own home and in several of my projects. You can see it here in my foyer and in my family room.
We played off the purple in this client’s artwork, and I love how it is bold, fresh, yet not too trendy.
So the next time you are looking for a fresh color with a little versatility, give purple a try. I promise it won’t disappoint.
Have a great day, everyone-
