Living Well

Update on #ProjectExpansion Renovation- It’s All In The Details…..

As mentioned last month, I have been busy working on our #projectexpansion renovation. If you’ll remember, this is the house for the clients that are growing their family (by two babies due six weeks apart!).

We have spent that past several months working on floor plans, furniture plans, stone/tile selections, cabinet elevations, trim details, nurseries, selecting door hardware, finalizing kitchen elevations,  lighting, and continuing to think of ways to customize the home.

To me, small details can make or break a home. It’s important to invest your money wisely in the right details.

For instance…..

The kitchen/breakfast room in this home had 8′ ceilings. They felt cramped, low, and when first walking through it with the homeowners and builder, we decided to raise the ceiling in this area.

Hallelujah!! Can you see the difference?  I promise, you can already FEEL the difference in the space.

Here is a pic of the same angle.  Can you tell?  We’ve moved a few walls and doors around, too, and this kitchen is going to have a completely different look.

This wall opening now leads to the pantry, and it’s going to be hidden by a planked wall.

When you pull into the home, you also notice the garage doors. These doors are dated and since they are on the front of the house,  we are customizing to make them more special and unique.

We have been adding unique details throughout the house to add character and charm throughout. One of the places is a niche we are creating for their daughter’s  bedroom. It is perfect for her crib and when she is older, it is still wide enough to hold a queen size bed and bedside tables.
