Turning A Dream Into Reality

Posted on Monday, January 23rd, 2017 at 5:28 pm

One of the BEST parts of my job is creating homes for families to grow into and make memories. Turning a dream into a reality.

I have been working on this #Vestavia project for a year and a half now, and we are in the middle of it. I was brought in before they broke ground and we are about half way complete.

Sheetrock is up, stone and tile are being installed, and trim and millwork will begin pretty soon.

I have been able to watch this project jump off of the pages of a plan and slowly turn into reality, and I am getting excited for this sweet family as so many good things- in so many ways-are in store for them. They have children and I see lots of wonderful memories being made in this home.

We have selected all of the lighting and it has been ordered. We are in the process of selecting all of the fabrics and furnishings, and are presenting it later this week. The fabrics and upholstery will determine the paint colors throughout the home. Paint is the last element we select- not the first.

Our color palette will be light in most areas and rich in color in other rooms. Charcoal, silver, cranberry and a touch of yellow in specific places. I have been looking for old and new pieces to give some age to this new construction, too.

There are going to be some custom pieces scattered throughout, such as this tall upholstered screen in the living room. The ceilings are tall, and in order to add some weight to the room, I am attaching an upholstered screen that covers most of one wall. Sheers will hang behind it to add softness to the space as well.

Stay tuned on Instagram in particular as I will be sharing pieces of the presentation later this week. It’s going to be fun watching this home turn into reality.
