Lavender Rooms

One of the projects I have been working on recently is the master bedroom/sitting room in one of my clients’ homes.  This young, fun couple wanted a sophisticated, glamourous bedroom for lounging after a busy day.

And the inspiration for the room was lavender!

lavender fields forever!

Lavender was the color of choice due to its soft yet slightly edgy feel.   I am loving this color right now; here it is in a recent banquette I made for a client.

One of my favorite designers of all time, John Saladino, is known for throwing a little lavender in here and there in his interiors.  If you have not read his book, Style By Saladino, it is must-read and a necessity for your library.

He’s a master at creating glamourous yet inviting interiors — like this one:

And Muse Interiors did a fabulous job using lavender in this small, cozy office.

Love it! Found on houzz.com

As for the master bedroom I am working on, we have gone with a beautiful lavender color with a hint of gray on the walls.  And the long wall behind the bed is going to be upholstered in this beautiful trellis fabric:

Here’s a peek at a few of the fabrics for this client’s room:

Furniture is slowly coming in and I am excited to install in a few weeks.   I’ll keep you posted on the finished result!

I was never a lavender girl but it is definitely growing on me. I love Sue from The Zhush’s office that Lauren Muse designed for her. And one of the designers from the show house I featured on the blog today used a purple croc chair that everyone seems to be responding to!
